We live in Fort Worth, Texas in a house built approximately in 1887, but only live in the upstairs as the downstairs is in need of some major renovation/remodeling and is really unlivable. |

My Bio |

|
I'm married to my best friend, and am still head-over-heels in love with him. We met at the University of Texas at Arlington campus, at the Baptist Student Union. We've been married over 24 years. We are both strong, born-again Christians and are as active as possible in our church. |

Glenn works in the audio/visual industry presently, working in convention centers & area hotels, for conventions that come in, giving them lapel mikes, big-screen TVs, overhead projectors, sound boards, and so forth. He sets up, tears down, and works the technology as needed. He hopes to learn how to teach gun safety, as well as get back to teaching motorcycle safety. He would like to re-enter Christian broadcasting, either in front of the microphone, camera, or behind, at some time in the future. |

Having recently written a book, I guess I can say I'm a writer now. I am also a freelance artist, painting wall murals, as well as using my watercolor & calligraphy talents also. I have worked as a free-lance copy editor. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I worked as the office manager at an animal hospital and was a church secretary. I've also been a manager for several gift & card shops. When I can, I am a voracious reader and love to cross stitch. In my free time, I moderate several e-lists and two message boards online. I am also the editor of three newsletters now; for each of the two homeschool groups we are members of and for the Metro All Breed Obedience Club that I recently joined. |

Our first-born, Mike, is a voracious reader. His favorite comic strip is Calvin & Hobbes. He has reread & reread and reread J.R. R. Tolkien's The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings trilogy, as well as C.S. Lewis' Narnia series, plus Brian Jacques' Redwall book series. His current author is Ted Dekker. He bought a used PSP from a friend and is really enjoying that. He continues to work with his Lego building bricks, and probably wouldn't mind working for the Lego company in some capacity. Can't believe he's already 17! He doesn't really know what he wants to do for a lifework/calling. |

Our second-born son, Richard, arrived April 30, 1992. He was 6 weeks early with a placental abruption, and with oxygen deprivation causing his cerebral palsy. He had severe reflux and a faulty hypothalamus (thermostat), running 106º with no infection. He had stomach surgery when he was 6 months old, to correct his reflux and stomach emptying problems. They also put in a feeding button. He had surgery again when he was 9 months old, as he had undone the first surgery giving himself a hernia. He never got to eat anything but formula. Richard had two-times-a-week physical therapy, as well as weekly visits to several doctors. He never laughed or cooed, no first words to record. On April 22, 1994, a week and a day before his second birthday, he went with Jesus to live in Heaven ahead of us. It was a hard little life for him, as well as for us, while he was here, but we rejoice that he can laugh, jump, talk, and sing now, no longer a prisoner of his body! |

We started homeschooling Mike in the late summer of 1995, and have never looked back. Mike is gifted especially in language arts. He was looking at a catalog, about two months before we were to actually begin homeschooling Kindergarten. He wanted to share what he was reading. (Somehow I missed the fact that he was reading!) He read aloud the caption under a castle play set. Before his father or I could help him out after he stumbled over the word, he corrected himself and read the word "medieval" with both correct pronunciation and comprehension. We were astounded and I had to sell our Kindergarten & 1st grade language arts program, starting him in the 2nd grade materials. With every other subject, he is either ahead of his age mates or right on grade level. We are currently using Charlotte Mason methodology, and The Well Trained Mind as a resource. He knows how to research that which interests him, and does so without prodding. He is a natural learner and a joy to both his father and myself, although thoroughly a "kid" too! We only have 2 more years of homeschooling as we continue thru the high school years. |

My all-time favorite verse is Micah 6:8, but the Lord has given Jeremiah 29:11 as a promise to me also. I deal with contentment issues at times, as I hope to have the house finished in its entirety. I know the Lord will sustain me thru this, as He has provided so lavishly in so many ways in the last few years. The Lord has been, is, and will ever be gracious to us! We have weathered the storms and know that He is Worthy of Trust! He gives peace in the midst of the storms. Please look to Jesus if you are unsure of your life! For He is Faithful! |

After the death of our last Yorkshire Terrier, we were without a pet for almost 2 years. As my Christmas gift, Glenn let me adopt our female mixed breed, Lucia, from the Humane Society. She was 8 months old and already house-trained when we got her the day after Thanksgiving 2003. She & I have taken obedience classes (Beginners, Advanced Beginners, Novice, and a beginners Open, with a little intro to Rally) with a local dog club, MABOC (see above). At the end of her second set of classes, she passed her Canine Good Citizenship test. I would like to train her for both agility and as a "therapy dog" or "visitation" dog to take to hospitals or nursing homes. Now, just to find the time! This is the photo the Humane Society took for Pet Finders online. I fell in love with her before I'd ever met her. |

He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8 |

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. Jeremiah 29:11 |
